Here is an overview of our current (very rough) itinerary. It’s going to be pretty hectic and we’ll be covering a lot of miles; if we do the route as planned it will be about 3635km of driving….
Sat 9th October – Fly to Singapore
Sun 10th – Fly to Auckland, stay in hotel airport and SLEEP
Mon 11th – Collect campervan and explore Auckland before heading north to the Bay of Islands
Tue 12th – Spend some time around Bay of Islands before heading to Coromandel
Wed 13th – Head to Rotorua via Hot Water Beach and Waihi
Thu 14th – Rotorua to Taupo via Wai-O-Tapu
Fri 15th – Taupo to Napier, stopping off at Huka falls
Sat 16th – Napier to Wellington
Sun 17th – Ferry from Wellington to Picton before heading to Nelson
Mon 18th – Nelson to Abel Tasman National Park for a walk or maybe even some kayaking (!)
Tue 19th – Abel Tasman to Greymouth (This is going to be a pretty long drive)
Wed 20th – Greymouth to Franz Joseph
Thu 21st – Day in Franz Joseph/Fox Glacier area – hoping to do an Air Safari trip and a half day glacier walk
Fri 22nd – Franz Joseph to Wanaka
Sat 23rd – Wanaka to Queenstown
Sun 24th – Queenstown to Te Anau
Mon 25th – Te Anau to Milford Sound
Tue 26h – Cruise on Milford Sound then back to Te Anau
Wed 27th – Te Anau to Dunedin
Thu 28th – Free day at the moment to give us time to be delayed or stay longer if we really like somewhere
Fri 29th – Dunedin to Christchurch
Sat 30th – Train from Christchurch to Greymouth and back
Sun 31st – Christchurch Airport to Singapore and then Singapore to London
Mon 1st Nov – Land in London early morning then train back to Sheffield
